Wordless Wednesday - Generations

"If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors.  All of them are alive in this moment.  Each is present in your body.
You are the continuation of each of these people."
~Thich Nhat Hanh

When we were in Illinois a few weeks ago, we finally connected with my grandfather.  He was doing yardwork when we pulled in to his driveway and he immediately put down his leaf blower and pulled up a chair.

We spent nearly an hour talking
and sharing that afternoon.
And what a blessing it was,
to spend that time,
four generations together.

mmmm, love the quote you opened this post with. Awesome and so true and these pictures are priceless! Family is so precious and time with them is so fleeting. I am so glad you got to have this treasured time together!

I'm hoping you got a picture of all four of you together somehow? What special memories ... cherish them and hold them close to your heart. I've been missing my grandparents a lot these days .....

What a precious photo!! You are truly blessed to have him in your life still. And the fact that your children have gotten to know him is priceless :)

These are so great - that first one should be framed.

See these are the kind of pictures that end up meaning the most to you years down the road. One day Cam's great grandkids will see this and feel an even deeper connection to their hertitage. When Olivia was born, she wasn't only the first daughter and grandaughter (on both sides of the family!) but she was the first great-grandaughter on my side. After she was born we got pictures with my maternal grandmother, mom, Olivia and me. I will cherish them forever!

That's so awesome that your kids have a great-grandparent! Rylie got to meet my grandfather and then he passed away a week before he got to meet Bryce. :-(
