There have been big developments in our
household this weekend....
Notice anything different?
Yes, I cut the back of Chloe's baby mullet a few weeks ago. It looks better, I think, but that's not what I'm talking about. Look again....
You got it! Baby is wearing undies!
We had a wonderfully lazy Saturday morning. We were sipping coffee, listening to country music and chatting on the couch with Gramma when a little voice said, "I go pee pee." Before I had a chance to peer over the back of the couch Chloe threw a slightly wet diaper over, which she removed herself. Um...okay. So, I grabbed a pair of teeny tiny undies and asked her if she wanted to wear them. We put them on her and she started playing away with her big sissy.
About an hour later she says, "Mommy I go pee pee." So, following standard potty training protocol, we put her on the little potty in our living room and we walked away. A few minutes later she stands up and points to it and says, "I go pee pee." Sure enough....she did! Whoo hoo! She was rewarded with 2 M&M's.
She continued to use the potty on her own accord throughout the weekend. Of course, we had a few minor accidents where she would start to go in her undies, then remember, and finish on the potty, but she is making progress.
She even started teaching Baby how to use the potty.
And properly wipe.
We've re-entered the "potty talk" phase of life. This phase means re-learning where the potty is located in every restaurant, store, gas station, etc. It involves constant questioning "do you have to go potty?" "Do you need to pee pee?" "Please don't pee pee in your undies." "Try and stay dry." The learning process is underway.
And, I'm just following her lead. I'm not pushing her. I know that when she's ready, she's ready. This morning I gave her a choice - diaper or undies. She chose the undies and went to school with them on for the first time. I expect she'll have an accident. But she's proud of herself, she's following her big sissy's lead, and she's growing up.
I already know that I'm going to miss the diaper days and feeling that padded diaper on my hip as I attempt to hold on to the few precious reminders of her infancy.
I still have the paci though and I have a feeling that will be the last baby reminder that I'll she'll let go of.

Sounds like you're moving in the right direction. I love how you've captured so many of her from behind!
What a big girl :-)
First off, her hair looks adorable!! Good choice!Second....yay that she is potty training already!! She is turning into a big girl now. Anthony went on the potty a handful of times. Funny enough, more so a few months ago than now. But, I am not pushing. Like Chloe, when he is ready, he will do it. And we still have the paci too!!
Oh this was soooo CUTE!!! And sweet! And made me laugh and giggle :) And aren't those the most wonderful words ever?!? "Mommy I go pee pee" Yes! Congrats!
The crocs on the wrong feet really made me smile....my youngest does that too :)
Way to go Chloe Belle! Those undies are the cutest :) Abby is doing the same thing with her Baby right now... my mom, sister, and I watched her the other day undressing baby and wiping her properly. Now she wants Baby naked all day and the wiping continues all day. Lovely! :)
So proud of Chloe - she is just growing up too fast!
Yay! That is so great! And I love that in the 3rd photo her shoes are on the wrong feet :)
this made me teary eyed... what an important occasion and step towards big-girlness.
Yeah!!! Way to go, Chloe!
Oh I love her little undies! Congrats to all of you. KLV is interested but isn't quite ready for all that yet.
Ah potty training. Can I just say that I was terrified about potty training if we'd had a girl? I didn't know which bathroom I'd take her in when we were out.
I'm happy for you that it seems to be a smooth operation. I'm sure in the non-blog life it's a bit more difficult, but it sounds like you're handling it great. Go Chloe!
Good job, Miss Chloe! The big girl undies were the first thing I noticed (big "Little Mermaid" fan that I am!), and I wondered what the "baby" was doing with big girl panties. She's not even my baby and I'm torn over seeing her grow up so fast. If she's initiating the process then she's definitely ready. What a good mom to offer her the choice and not make a big deal of it.
Yahoo! That is so wonderful! Congratulations on using the potty Chloe! It is so cute that she is teaching her little baby to use the potty too. Such a big milestone! Have a great day!
Mama Hen
Ahh what a cutie! Is it easier the 2nd time? Seems like it would be since they have the role model. How old is Chloe again?
Yay Chloe! How awesome!!! Looks like you'll have an early potty-trainee like I did. (I don't think I'm going to get as lucky this time around.) And I love the pictures! LOL I needed a smile today.
