My Kid Sings Like an Angel....Yeah, you read that right.

The weekend was off to a rough start.  On my way to two hours of outlet shopping bliss on Friday afternoon, I chunked over a log sitting in the middle of my lane on I-75.  Seriously, a log...a big honking chunk of wood was sitting in my lane and perfectly aligned with my driver's side tire.  A blow-out resulted and I ended up panicked on the side of the interstate.  Within 40 minutes my tire was changed and I was on my way again.  It was still a successful trip to the outlet mall, so all ended well there.

Camdyn had a not-so-good day on Friday and we quickly talked about it and then glazed over it, because quite frankly, this is becoming common-place and the teacher suggested we pay it little attention in the hopes that positive attention from desired behavior will take precedence.  I hope she's right.

Saturday was a whirlwind.  Birthday party, library time, park time, and play time at the house, all followed by two extremely exhausted kids and two mostly worn out parents.

On Sunday, Camdyn made her debut with the Children's Choir.  They sang at the contemporary service, and like good parents, we showed up with our video cameras and encouraging smiles.  I was partially, okay...extremely! concerned that Camdyn would not do what she was supposed to be doing up there...I mean there are drums, a piano, plants, a speaker waiting to be kicked (and yes, she did just that)....there are so many things that could have pulled her attention in an inappropriate direction.  BUT, like the good girl she is, she smiled, she sang shyly, and she restored my faith.  My child can do what she is supposed to do, when she wants to.

I bring you, Camdyn singing "Awesome God."

**Please excuse my shaky video...I was trying to watch her and record at the same time, and it was, well, not working out so great

Happy Monday!

Awwww. Yay Cam! I had a similar post last spring about Rylie and her little program at school. Funny how we have a lot of the same stories, huh? ;-) Anyway - Cam looked adorable and I'm so glad she did so well!

Crazy about your tire, but I'm glad you didn't get hurt and didn't do any more damage than just the tire. It sounds like you had another busy weekend. When are they ever not busy?

Have a great week Carol!

Awww, what a great video!! Good job Camdyn! She did a great job, even if she tapped the speaker a few times. :)

Good thing nothing serious happened from hitting the log - that can be so scary! Weekends are always so jam packed, it can seem to just fly by so quickly.

I saw the video when you posted it on FB so I am going to refrain from going on that "boat ride" again! LOL I LOVED hearing their little voices sing such a big song! You must have been SO proud! Yay for Cam!!!

Cam may have her career cut out for her :) How adorable. I am sure you were a proud momma. you are so funny that you still continued on to the outlet mall after a tire blowout :)

Oh, I love that song! I know you are a proud mommy. BTW, I loved that you just said simply that your tire was changed within 40 minutes and you were on your way. I bet you handled that mess with the patience of an angel!

My kid sings like an Angel, too. Yeah, like one of the guys in the outfield.

Sounds like an exhausting weekend for sure, but fun.

So glad you were able to get the car fixed that would have freaked me out.

Love the video, Ericka loves to sing around the house but she would NOT under any circumstances get up in front of people and do it. Hopefully she sings better then her mother as she grows up LOL!

Ahhh, love the video, she did so great! I admit to laughing when she was stomping the speaker because that will surely be klv someday.
Your story about the log reminds me of when I hit the world's biggest tire 1 hr after buying our new car then 1 week later drywall (yes you read that right) was flying through the air and I hit it. Last week I drove through a big thing of pink paint....crazy! Glad your okay!

That video was so cute! Sorry about your car, but everyone was safe and it was fixed quickly. That is a great thing! I visited your friend and it was heartwrenching to read. Thank you for letting me know. I hope everything will be OK soon with her little one. I would like to put her post on the Nestwork so she could get some more support, but I am not sure if she would like that. Let me know what you think. Have a good night!
